Movie Story: The writer / director Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow,” “Black Snake Moan”) offers a new take on the beloved 1984 classic film “Footloose.” Ren MacCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small town in southern Bomont where it undergoes a strong dose of culture shock. A few years ago, the community was shaken by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night and councilors and beloved pastor Bomont Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) has responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dance. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges to the ban, the revitalization of the city and fall in love with the girl with Minister Ariel problems (Julianne Hough) in the process.
