Antihero of the novel, Pinkie Brown, is a sociopathic gangster teen up-and-coming. Hale had betrayed the former leader of the little band of control now. Ida Arnold, a woman of heart and decent, is introduced into the action by a chance encounter with Hale feared that the murders of the little finger in mysterious circumstances soon after.
