Gareth Edwards Direct Godzilla
Gareth Edwards has been appointed director of the upcoming Godzilla Legendary Pictures restart Heat Vision.
Edwards comes directly from the success of his monsters kaiju inspired, produced with a budget held under six figures.
Since 1954, Godzilla has appeared in dozens of films, including a former 1998 reboot. The plan for the new film has been compared to Batman Begins, reinventing the character, but remaining true to its Japanese roots.
David Callaham (Doom, The Expendables) provided a first draft of the upcoming movie, but a new author faces a rewrite soon.
The film was designed for an unspecified 2012 release.
