Film Fest Brings The Best European In Beijing, Chengdu and Xi’an
The third Festival of Cinema of the EU in China opened in Beijing on Monday night with a screening of Lone Scherfig Oscar-nominated film An Education and Cypriot Kato Apo Ta Asteria (Under the Stars).
Throughout the month, Beijing and Chengdu and Xi’an, take life with a lineup of 26 films and popular lately, the introduction of the new face of European cinema.

Opened two years ago in Beijing, the festival has grown rapidly in size and influence since it began. Attracting 5,000 people in the first year and 14,000 last year, this year’s festival is the first time in three cities, Beijing, Chengdu and Xian, and has expanded the commercial theater. Twelve films in the district of Beijing Star City and the Broadway Cinema Cinémathèque MOMA, the Star Yingdu Chengdu and Xian Multiplex Bona New Horizon International Cineplex. Access to these films is still very low, at 20 yuan ($ 3) ticket.
Other titles will be shown in cultural centers and EU embassies in Beijing, including the French Cultural Center, the Instituto Cervantes and the Embassy of Poland, with free access. Each film will be presented in the original language with subtitles in English and Chinese.
